The methodology and theoretical results obtained from this analysis are applied in the second part of the book to study, first of all, the prohibition of incest [cf. Lévi-Strauss], and then the buying and selling of labour-power [cf. Marx]. Using the same method —a method that is linguistic and political—, the final part studies the relation between these two social practices, in particular the relation between family and capitalism that is contemporary in western societies.
